Textiles are Declared as Priority Products under the EPR Law

On July 4, 2025, Resolution No. 3914/2025 of the Ministry of the Environment was published in the Official Gazette, declaring textiles as priority products under Law No. 20.920 on Extended Producer Responsibility and Promotion of Recycling (“EPR Law”). With this Resolution, textiles become the seventh priority product under this regulation.

Following this declaration, companies that qualify as textile producers must register with the Pollutant Release and Transfer Register (RETC) and annually report the quantity of products placed on the market. Additionally, the Ministry of the Environment must draft and issue the corresponding Supreme Decree establishing collection and recovery targets for this new priority product.
